When spills occur it is important that they are cleaned up immediately! Here's a 10 step guide to make your job easier and more efficient.

Scoop up all solids with a knife or spoon
Blot up liquids by applying pressure with white paper towels or tissues.
Determine the best method for removing the stain. Click here to see the 'Stain removal page'
Before treating the stain, test treatments on an inconspicuous part of the carpet for possible colour changes.
With a blotting or dabbing motion, work inwards from the edge of the stain to prevent it from spreading.
DO NOT rub the carpet pile during stain removal or rinsing stages.
When attempting to remove the stains, ensure that the carpet is dry before proceeding to the next step.
After treatment, rinse by applying clear tepid water using a clean cloth or sponge.
Once the stain has been removed, blot up the moisture by applying pressure with white paper towels or tissues. (Use telephone books etc. on top of the towels.)
DO NOT walk on the carpet until it is dry.
